Help curb poverty!
-Coffee is the second most heavily traded good in the world, after oil.
-The average coffee farmer earns about $3.00 a day- less than the average
American spends daily on coffee. (Americans consume 320 million cups of
coffee each day)
-Fair Trade Coffee helps farmers earn a living wage. Growers receive a
minimum of $1.29/lb for Fair Trade and $1.48/lb for Fair Trade, Organic,
compared to the normal $.25/lb.
-Nearly 20 million people rely on coffee as their livelihood.
