What you NEED to know!

We are a co-ed club that participates in both the Fall and Spring competitive seasons. While we like performing well and expanding the reputation of SJU/CSB Crew, we stress camaraderie and having fun as the main goals for the seasons.

Here are some of the more important aspects of our team:

    - No Coach

That's right, students are responsible for recruitment, participation, & training.

    - No Experience Necessary

Most of the novice members of the team have little or no experience, but        quickly gain the advanced techniques in Sweep Rowing and Coxing

    - Emphasis on Technique

With the limited amount of on-the-water training, we focus our coaching strategies on technique and form. Endurance and strength training are aspects of our dry-land workouts.

    - We are a Club Sport

Team members retain a competitive edge with the realization that we simply do not have the resources needed to train and compete at an extreme level. We are racing against Division 1 & 2 schools that spend upwards of 5 hours per day on training. This does however give an extreme sense of satisfaction when we bury the competition in our wake!
