Take advantage of what life gives you.

“One way to better enjoy our Benedictine stewardship and spirituality is through being in nature and in our case, fishing.” –Tom Connelly, Club President 2007

Our Mission: To provide everyone at CSB/SJU with an equal opportunity to fish on our beautiful lakes on campus, as well as lakes off-campus through club trips. We will provide knowledge and understanding about fishing while instilling a deep respect for the environment and the importance of service to others.

Our Purpose:  The Fishing Club is for CSB/SJU students alike.  It is for experienced fishers and people who are new to the sport and interested in fishing.  We want to give students a chance to take advantage of one of Mother Nature’s greatest productions, fisheries.

Our plan as a club is to help students take advantage of the seven fish filled lakes we have on our campuses.  Without discrimination by experience or skill, we plan to introduce and teach proper and effective fishing habits and techniques.  These will be taught through traditional, fly-fishing and ice fishing clinics that will be hosted by experienced fishers.

We plan to help make our lakes more easily accessible to current fishers by creating an easy access to student canoes.  We also plan to introduce the sport of fishing to international students at our colleges who want to fish, but have never had the opportunity to do so.

Special Thanks to our Sponsor Pure Fishing

Pure Fishing has helped our club by giving us a great donation of brand new fishing equipment
