·         Johns Hopkins University's Center for Talented Youth (CTY) is seeking undergraduates for instructor and teaching assistant positions to teach gifted students ages 8-16.  This is a program with two 3-week sessions where students and staff live on a college campus. Courses are offered in both Mathematics and Computer Science.  With 20 sites are located in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and California, this is bound to be an excellent program.  For more information and to download an application, visit www.jhu.edu/gifted/ctysummer.

  • ·         The National Science Foundation sponsors Research Opportunities for Undergraduates (REUs) at various universities throughout the country.  This is a wonderful opportunity to see another area of the country, get experience with math outside of the classroom, and to have fun!  For more information, please click here: REU Listings

·         The Mathematics Department has funding for two continuing CSB/SJU students to engage in undergraduate mathematics research in cooperation with faculty here.  Each student interested in participating in this program should find a faculty sponsor in the Mathematics Department willing to work with the student.  Students will be employed full time (40 hours per week) for 10 weeks.  Housing will be on the SJU campus.  Interested?  The application is due March 15 to Phil Byrne.  Questions and requests for applications should be directed to Tom Sibley.  You can visit the Opportunities page on the Math Society Webpage for a description of possible research.  Click here for the announcement and applications
