SAINT JOHN'S LACROSSE

A message from SJU Lacrosse
Thank you to all who have been checking up on our website. It has received a lot of attention and because us this, we have noticed the need to revamp our current SJU Lacrosse homepage. In our attempts to create a better website we are shutting down this website.
Our Reasons
Even though this website is under 10-years-old, it can be considered ancient in the world of technology. The options and tools that are available to us now are much better and more efficient. The program that this website was designed under, Front Page 2003, is now obsolete with the introduction and usage of Microsoft Office 2007. Saint John's University has uninstalled the program from all campus computers making this webpage extremely difficult to update. Since the current webmaster is the only one with Front Page 2003 installed on his computer, we have decided to use a different method of having a Saint John's Lacrosse webpage.
Our Solution
Home Teams Online (HTO) is a website that creates homepages for sports teams and leagues of all sports, ages, levels, conferences, etc. Our rivals, the University of St. Thomas, revamped their homepage by switching to a HTO webpage a few years ago. Our fellow laxers on campus, the College of St. Benedict Girls Lacrosse team, also switched to a HTO webpage. St. Ben's league, the North Central Women's Lacrosse League, also used HTO for their homepage. With a lot of local lacrosse teams switching to HTO webpages, we are working on joining the trend.
Our Problem
Unfortunately it does not come cheap. The site will require $95 a year to maintain. To see all the features we will get click here (we are pursuing the All-Star package). However we will get what we pay for. With the $95 a year, we will have our own domain name (which will most likely be sjulacrosse.com) and be able to provide schedule, scores, roster information, coach information, statistics, photo albums, a bulletin board, as well as many other features.
Our Situation
Unfortunately, we cannot afford the $95 a year for an HTO website, as it was not in our budget plan for this season. It is something that will be added for the 2009-2010 Budget and hopefully it will be up and running for our first face-off of the 2010 Spring season.
Currently, we have two websites operating to keep you up-to-date on all SJU Lacrosse information. We have a blog and a working version of an HTO website. The blog contains news updates, score updates, links to pictures and the ability for feedback from viewers. The HTO website contains scores, schedule and roster information.
A lot has been deleted from this webpage and will be transferred to the blog and/or HTO website once it is up and running. Some information already has been transferred.
Please stay tuned and check back on this website and the new websites listed below...
